Ward Terrarium
I designed the Ward, inspired by Victorian-era terrarium illustrations. This style takes its name from Dr. Nathaniel Bagshaw Ward, the inventor of the terrarium. The original terrariums, called Wardian Cases, were first used commercially to transport plants worldwide but soon became popular in the homes of Britain and across Europe.
- 10" L x 7" W x 13" H
- Hand-cut glass is wrapped in copper foil and then soldered by hand using traditional stained glass techniques.
- Handcrafted wood base with a routed top to hold the glass securely in place is created in my woodshop.
- Functional closed terrarium with removable glass top for easy access planting and watering
- Can be used to display unique collections or curios
- Quality construction by a stained-glass artisan with 18 years of experience
- Includes a fitted plastic liner
- See my Planting and Care page for planting instructions and tips
- Handmade in Michigan
